Boy & Girl Scouts

(acrostic)

Despite a world cursed with greed and conceit,
One, at times, may receive in the street

A kind deed, done without motivation.

Great feats aren’t in this category,
Only simple deeds but transitory.
One kind work in self-deprecation
Defines the stock of this great nation.

Do good deeds for others in sundry ways,
Even tho’ unrequited in current days;
Each act thus done without compensation
Does somehow merit divine affirmation.

Do unto others . . . You know - the Golden Rule,
Agreeably serves and does goodwill fuel.
It may, in time, yield world transformation.
Look at the first letter of each line in this rhyme;
You’ll see the Scouting slogan - fitting anytime!
