Suffocating Myself (Second draft)

Breathe in breathe out, he said to me
But the plastic fogged, and made it hard to see
He asked for help, and in return id stare
Running out, of time and air
The plastic caught, inside his mouth
Suffocating more, when he spoke out

Breathe in breathe out, he mouthed to me
As the plastic tightened, and made it harder to speak
Hiding behind, the mask that he wore
The thing he needed most, only suffocated him more
He’d smile and say he’s doing okay
But behind the mask, he suffered each day
Like the man they left, drowning at sea
As they thought he was waving, and watched him be

Breathe in breathe out, I said to him
The pain will pass, and life will begin
But he did not respond, he stared back blankly
Emotionally drained, yet with so much anxiety
And as he panicked more, the plastic tightened
As it wrapped around his throat, his face grew frightened
Lungs constricted, as he gasped for breath
He screamed for help, with all he had left
But I would not turn
Or say a word of care

As you cannot scream
Without any air
