I was born in colourful vibrant District Six, Cape Town under an Apartheid government, during hippie times. My birthplace & time had great impact on the course of my eventful life, with my ancestral lineages going back into the slave trade.
I’ve written poetry since I could write, to help me through challenging times & to channel what I believed came from higher realms. Today, I am of the understanding that many of my poems are channelings and downloaded from consciousnesses that I’m able to access. I find this exciting.
I became a political activist at a young age, later participating in SA’s First National Democratic Government, setting up the Office of the Leader of Government Business, where I played a direct role in prioritising new legislation for a Transformation Government. My experience in political prison under Section Six of the Terrorism Act, when I was held in solitary confinement for interrogation purposes, left an indelible mark on my consciousness. The experience led me into deep compassion for suffering beings ~ both human and animals.
As a political activist during Apartheid and leader within Non-Governmental organisations, at the time, I was blessed to be exposed to a wide range of experiences from which I’m able to draw on today, to inform my poetry.
Poetry is an important creative industry, regaining its rightful place in the evolution of Humankind, assisting in Gaia’s expansion into expanded dimensions. It remains an important viable vehicle for healing, both on the personal level as well as in macro spaces.
