And over we sat
In a beautiful cafe
with coffee in our hand
we talked about our day

it was just like any other day
and we had a lot to say
but we avoided the heart
because ego was at play

we talked of everything
everything except us
we talked of everything
that does not really matters

for what could have happened
will never be
it's such a shame
and so pity

for we let the ego win
for we were so shallow
for we didn't have the courage
to follow our dreams

we lost ourselves
we lost everything
just to let our ego win
