Redbirds In The Snow

The cold white pale of winter and the grayness of the sky
An object of bright crimson suddenly was in my eye
Though only for a moment but now is everywhere
Something was given to me that forever will be mine.

Just outside God is sending redbirds in the snow
And much too long awaiting he's the one that made it so..
If only I had listened through the time that drifts away
I'd heard a thousand of the same before I have to go.

See the one that's shining on the one that's growing dim
He chimes upon his brother and then come's back again.
He seem to be a nestling on the coldness of his breast
But then gets up another time to put on his Sunday's best.

Just outside God is sending redbirds in the snow
And much too long awaiting he's the one that made it so.
If only I had listened through the time that drifts away
I'd heard a thousand of the same before I have to go.
