Are their hearts tender and minds weakened with unspeakable strife
Is the harsh task of living in reality too much to bear
Is it easier to live with nothingness and a dullard stare
Do they exist only in a world of loneliness
A dimension overcome with despair

Why do some choose death of the mind over life
Even though the blood flows through their veins
In their vacant eyes, there is no sign of life
Are they conquered and defeated by uncontrollable emotions and illogical thoughts?
In a web of helplessness, they seem to be easily caught.

So why do some choose the death of the mind over life
Their hearts are eternally bound and their hands are forever tied
Condemned to suffer their fate with no respite
Throughout their God-given allotted time
Perhaps that is why some choose death of the mind over life.
