Whispers of the Soul

Some willingly embrace insanity
While some simply have no choice
Quietly acknowledging to them selves
The recognition of reality
Would surely lead to their destruction
Alas they have little recourse

Others choose to wander with in trepidation
Amongst the conjured memories of their past
Emersed in long forgotten emotions
Often denying the craving they have no sway over
Flowing thoughts still hold them firmly and fast

Then there are those who drink the wine of loneliness
The unfortunate upon whom life has taken its toll
Around the fire of flickering shadows, they live
Isolation of the heart their singular pursuit
They hear only the whispers of their own souls.
