When they dared fly too close to the sun.

Finality and stillness hung heavy in the air
How came the human race to this madness
The men who would fly too close to the sun dared

The courage to journey to the milky moon
The shadowy secrets of the jade oceans floor
Unsatisfied they began to yearn for flickering stars
The quest for power has no bound's
The winds whispered this tale across mountains high

Death called to them all
The dreamers and innocent with gentle minds
Who having no choice fell beside souls' evil and dark
Along with those who against nature had committed no crime
Their destiny written long ago by that unknown was complete
Man in his self-made tomb
Silently sleep

In a sanguine bed of radiation and bones
To great heights he would never again rise
This species who dared to conquer the skies
Would die by the brutality of hate inspired bombs and guns
When they dared fly too close to the sun.
