Ole blackbird

Ole black bird with blood on his wings
Tells of the troubles of man
And the sorrow be brings

Snakes lurk in his heart.
Venom fed his perversions and desire.
He drank the rivers dry.
And set the earth on fire.

Ole black bird with blood on his wings
The dying of man
Reflected in his eyes
And of death, he sings

Soon all that will remain of humanity
Are memories of what could have been
But alas will never be
For of man no more will the blackbird sing.
