Some adamantly insist
You must be a Hodo or a witch
I smile with mirth in my eye, laughing, and tell them
No such creatures exist
Then you are a sorceress or necomancer
I pause briefly, considering my response before I answer
I respond with a directness that cannot be ignored and carefully say
Who knows what the world hides in the dark, in secret, and grandeur creates
I could also be a star from the heavens or an enchanted dancer
So perhaps you are a sybil or a siren
A wiccan or a charmer
I can only say in some instances,
I may control others' tomorrows
So when you say I must be a Hodo or a witch
Do be surprised when my amusement increases and I spin my sticky web to trap you like a small fly
And chuckling to myself,
Before I change you into a spotted frog
I tell them in all seriousness and insist
Silly humans we all know such creatures do not exit.
