It was in her eyes

The madness that whispered in her mind
The thoughts she would entertain
In the long hours of the night
As she sat among the shadows of the dead
The soldiers who battled the light

In was in her eyes
Returning my gaze fearlessly
They told of revenge and betrayal
Terrible days
When death became her friend
When only through the strength of spite
She weakly clung to life

It was in her eyes was in her eyes
The choice she made
The price of her heart she paid
The path she chose to follow
That determined all tomorrow’s
Intertwined with silence and pain
That would never be forgiven
And so, too, she never forgave
Even as they lay her in her grave

It was in her eyes
The fiends that danced in her mind
The thoughts she entertained
The beckoning arms of the night
Where forever would she dwell
Among the soldiers who battled the light
