To Homer

Homer speaks of the wildest sea,
Now strangely level, cleansed of flesh!
Perched at a universal angle, the one and only.
Indifferent to the yet unknown Mausers,
As if Cracking seeds with his sacred teeth
He detaches every word, one by one, from its husk,
And rears his immortal tree for Night.
