The Why

Little boy cornered, why do they hurt you so
Tears fall but with no meaning due to quantity
Little boy, all they did was look at you that way
Fragile as glass and soft as a tear covered pillow
You need not to be this way, I worry for you
Use your tears when they are needed, not always
Do not let them all see you like this, so weak
How will you ever live when you are grown
Heed my warning, grow now or ever be attacked
Now you cry less, you are making me proud
The tears you whisper and cry aren’t that loud
But you still are weak and vulnerable
You apologize and are so polite sweet little boy
She preaches what I’ve been saying, what a friend
She protects you for now, but where is the end
You are a young man and you no longer cry
But you still get emotional, you are so very weak
She yells at you to be a man, listen to her
What would do if your bridges burnt down
You stick up for yourself, defending against all
Now you hurt her, sticking up only for your pride
You are a monster hurting the very thing who created you
Who cares anymore, you are what I always wanted
No regard, a heartless unfeeling great man
Why does every person hate you I wonder why
