Bruised, not broken
LIKE THIS POEM
I carry the weight
like a bruise beneath skin-
silent,
deep,
still tender when pressed.
But I stand.
Not tall,
not untouched,
but still here.
The wind leans hard
against my ribs,
and I let it.
I do not shatter.
