Sugar II

I drink my blood
When it tickles down
From my finger
The soreness that comes
From a prick I do every day
My doctor's voice echoes a warning
My numbers always questionable
No matter how many miles i journey
Sometimes, I wish I didn't eat so much of
Halloween candy
Or the pound of chocolate at Easter
And the endless boxes of biscuits while watching
Sesame Street as Cookie Moster made me
Crave them inside on a rainy day
I wish I knew better
But it was fun at the time
