If I Lose Heart

If I lose heart then trip and fall, is there really any hope at all?
Yes, Salvation is not denied, ‘twas to save us He was crucified.

If I fall into dreadful sin, will I ever get up again?
Yes, if you but Faith regain, you’ll be released from sinful pain.

If I collapse into shapeless heap, will I get comforted when I weep?
Yes, the Savior is assurance that you can rise and have endurance.

If I founder there on yonder reef, will there be succor to give relief?
Yes, the Lord will provide the harbor if only you provide the labor.

If I crumble and drift far astray, will there be someone to show the way?
Yes, all sinners may trust in this, Christ will direct the way to Bliss.

If I fail in my holy endeavor, will I be lost to God forever?
No, cast eyes to heaven bright; Christ is there to heal your sight.

If I capsize near reef-racked shore, will I be lost forevermore?
Look to Him to right your ship, and sail you to safety in His grip.

If I blunder into reckless vice, will I pay the damnation price?
Not if you pray and show remorse; Jesus will put you back on course.

If I succumb to temptation, will I risk holy salvation?
Temptation is not itself a sin, but unless you pray, you cannot win.

If I topple from peak of pride, will there be anyone on my side?
Yes, for He is always there; be humble and bow in prayer.

If I plunge into depths of wrong, will I be rescued by someone strong?
This can be done if you repent; then you must your life reorient.

If I neglect to help out my brother, will I be no better than any other?
Charity is a Godly virtue - always find ways to help and rescue.

If I stumble in wickedness, will I ever reach blessedness?
To stumble is not cause for despair; steel your resolve with daily prayer.

If I sink to sin and lower ways, will I be condemned for all my days?
Not if you raise your sights to God; all can be saved, however flawed.

If I descend on slippery slope, will someone near throw me a rope?
Jesus is always near to save; you’re not the first that He forgave.
