We watch the moon together
Like two drunken old men;
Asking ourselves again and again
'What was it like up there? '

We know we will not breathe
On its cold dead ground,
But at least we would not be shot at
Nor will we hear broken lies.

We watch the moon together
Until it vanishes behind some clouds
And all of the time out there
People are dying
On a cold dead dream.
