Teal Sky Calling

Louise loved pretty, perky robins, and happily lived in redbird vicinity;
And enjoyed their merry songs, from rouge dawn, to hushed infinity.

A young wife and mother, she enjoyed the glazed summertime of life.
Her husband and children made a happy family, when roses were rife.

The family had a black kitten named Socks, because of his white feet.
He was always doing funny things, like moon's cameo, in sunrise suite.

With fantastic, fun days no longer faroff, flowers feverishly bloomed,
Filling mellow sunshine with fruity scent; in days, to beauties doomed!

Fat, pink clouds of morning drifted far, from the fatality of floral night;
As red butterfly visited rose, and family flooded the doorway with light.

Louise lived in the house of beloved oldies, drifting in windows, daily;
And unchanged over the last thousand years, greeting gold sun, gaily.

Her street was so very special, with strawberries growing everywhere,
And made into sweet pies and jams, to be judged at the next fun fair.

Neighbors were a national treasure, when skies wore blusher, at dusk,
Visiting with New York cherry ice cream; when floral winds carried musk.

'Angel wing' roses were heavenly, near celosia 'tie dye,' flower child bliss;
As 'crazy hair' blooms got permed, and amaryllis wore red, like Phyllis.

'Krazy wildflowers' tore all over fields, as 'vibrant kaleidoscopes' wowed;
When 'crazy diamond' rose, sparkled in sunlight, heretofore not allowed!

One day red robin was heard whistling, on the green lawn of mutual joy;
Nodding head, and wiggling his tail, in afternoon of morning destroyed.

It was like he'd dropped in for tea, hopping in sunbeams, in his pert way,
Or sitting on a twig. But, as he flew down, Socks rushed up. Avian dismay!

The race was on, in the new, old fashioned way, in red hibiscus summer!
Agile red robin jumped on the wall, next to the pink, carnation stunners.

Socks nearly had a fall trying to follow, like purple sun following moon;
And had to modify his notions of what was viable, like sunrises maroon!

'Little Robin Redbreast
Sat upon a rail;
Niddle noddle went his head,
Wiggle waggle went his tail.

Little Robin Redbreast
Came to visit me;
This is what he whistled,
Thank you for my tea.
and:

Little Robin Redbreast
Sat upon a tree,
Up went the Pussy-Cat,
And down went he;
Down came Pussy-Cat,
Away Robin ran,
Says little Robin Redbreast—
Catch me if you can.
Little Robin Redbreast jumped upon a wall,
Pussy-Cat jumped after him, and almost got a fall.
Little Robin chirped and sung, and what did pussy say?
Pussy-Cat said Mew, mew mew—and Robin jumped away.'
