Here Today, Gone by Spring

Amy's family moved to the north, for Father's business was relocating;
Like four distinctly, beautiful seasons, caused by a blue world, rotating.

Her brothers and sisters, like Amy, loved the delights of southern life;
Such as going barefoot and tire swings, and noon's buttery sun strife.

Still, the change was so exciting, like mulberry light of stars, twinkling.
They reached the addresss in autumn, when red leaves were wrinkling.

Faces of friends were very new, like the lime zest, fresh rain, just fallen;
For, first impressions do not soon fade. Like happy cake bearers, callin'.

Faroff family fastened hopes on visits, when seasons changed flavors,
Featuring the finest of every fateful one, after calling in green favors.

Amy lived in the house of change, like scarlet sun patterns on the wall;
When pearl moon is only heartbeats away, and shadows grow too tall.

Swift breezes caused sweet surrender, underneath myriad apricot stars;
On their street of strawberry gardens, and the ivied house of Charles.

Noon neighbors brought chicken noodle soup, to nurture friendships;
And gossiped like bluebirds in pine trees, in a colorful world, authentic.

Juncus twister grass twirled, in whirly days of the leaves' colorful dance;
Until 'amethyst in the snow,' sparkled, like fragrant blooms' last chance!

Egyptian walking onions were going to town, in the sunrise, pink haze;
And 'chenille firetails' glowed red hot, yet feeling the summertime blaze.

Fluff, deep snow soon came soft, to Amy and her siblings' utter delight!
And because they had seen but little snow, it created memorable sights!

All the children were drawn out of doors, as if by a magical, pied piper;
After romping, they built a snowman. In red velvet cape, he looked nicer.

With shiny, button eyes and carrot nose, in top hat, he appeared elegant,
His hat perfectly matched to his cape; His mien was somehow intelligent.

Amy learned that variety is a good thing, like countless ice cream flavors;
And each moment is colored differently, each one by our beloved Creator.

Still recalled fondly was her old home, yet, she loved her present one, too.
Winters found children oddly drawn outdoors, visiting Marshmallow anew.

Every purple leafed fall, meant Marshmallow was coming, in pretty snow;
And each budding, green spring saw him leaving, with noplace else to go!

I'm a little snowman short and fat,
Here's my scarf and here's my hat.
When I see the snowfall,
Hear me shout
All you children, please come out!
