The table is open

So begin
At the table start two
The world suspended dead and center
The wood slices it through
The table is open for me

and the table is open for you

I see you like
Wet clay hurling on a wheel
And so you're underwhelming right now
But I see something when you get honest
Real honest
It'll come out with time and pressure

I could be a case study
On how to live
Without respect for personal values
You would also do fine
there is room for more than one version of you at this table

Help me invent the table
I’ve seen you cackling into the night air
I’ve seen you drinking down a pain and a joint
I’ve seen young flowers in your hair
I’ve seen a point in knitting, to a point

So begin
At the table start three
The world suspended dead and center
The wood slices it through
The table is open for me

The table is open for you

This time in the palms
Swaying, just to hold you
There is a place where trees turn green only once per year
It happens in a second
Will you meet me there?
