A Dawn Of Terror.

We covered zero miles
Of sand and dry bushes
Across rivers and valleys
Of horror and terror
In this one nation
A nation where everyone
Is on the run,for one's own life
I suppose the past is paying us visits
Like that evening, and that other morning
In black and white,I remember everything.

Strong winds blew from the East
Dogs barked everywhere in villages
The usual breeze was no more
Things were slowly breaking loose
And others falling a part,I still remember
After a few seconds, barking was overtaken
By screams and cries of people in agony
Sheep bleating, donkeys braying, cows ...
All crying for their right, right to live
Cries that fell on deaf ears
Suddenly, cries and screams went mute
But dogs barked till morning.

The night was horrible, terrible
And the morning was mourning
For many lovely lives lost
Of humans and animals
My heart felt heavy,sad
I saw a solitary shoe,a broken door
Abandoned fire place,broken pots,torn hat
Unattended radio and walking staff
Scorched houses,still burning
Nobody was there to tell us the story
But the images told us everything
Of a nation that we all know
I suppose the past is paying us visits.
