the neo-liberal ecosystem

an old,
ancient hunger,
wrapped in a new package,
sold.
the same core,
same thirst.
the hierarchy
remains the central demand.
just change the branding.
the fittest survive,
not the strongest belief,
but
the best-marketed.

the hood is taken off,
now a tailored suit is worn.
the message is clean.
not a cross now burned,
but a viral meme is launched.
the algorithm feeds.
the collective blame
is now a personal flaw.
just clean your own room.

grievance,
a product.
resentment,
a market share.
identity,
sold.
the preacher now sells
self-help and sorting yourself out.
salvation,
bought.
the war is not fought
in streets with neighbors,
but inside
the lonely heart's screens.

the new jungle law,
mutate or become extinct.
the old gods put on suits.
the ecosystem
selects for profit and growth.
ideology adapts.
the most adaptable
is not the truest form,
but
the one that sells best.
some call it,
the invisible hand of god,
the invisible hand of the market,
the invisible hand of a new
adam smith and new eve.
