Today, I am unable.
I’m incapable and unstable,
and if you thought I was ready,
well, give up already!
Today, I am small.
So I’m putting up a tall wall,
you’ll never get to me,
I won’t let you see.
Today, I am lost.
Amongst ice and frost,
snow floats in the air,
as the wind whips my hair.
Today, I am cowering.
Like a bloom freshly flowering,
fear sprouts fresh and new,
stark against skies so blue.
Today, I am young.
I realize as words are sung,
I’m too small a number to be fully grown,
and that means that I am utterly alone.
