Birth of Love

You stood there in sun,
shining brighter than the stars.
Burning like a flame,
you were more brilliant than Mars.

Smiling like a ray of light,
you burned away life's pains.
You freed me of my past and fears,
you took away the chains.

How can I not fall in love,
what did you expect?
You've been in all my wildest dreams,
as I peacefully slept.

I ache, I shout, I cry, I beg,
and still the months go by.
I plead, I bleed, I scream, I dream,
I'm far above, it's all a lie.

I plant the seed,
through all my gloom.
I'm just a weed,
where you're a bloom.

Cyclamen in the spring,
roses all year round.
Petals shift and sway all day,
beauty I have found.

Like ropes wrapped ‘round my tender skin,
love aches and burns and bruises
too.
But I'm a fighter and you know,
I'll always come right back for you.
